On Forgiveness
The first part of this semester, the College of Transfiguration worships together on Sunday mornings. Later, students will go to area churches for their parish placements.
Yesterday, Joe served as presider and preacher for the Eucharist. The text for the sermon was the Gospel lesson, Luke 6:27-38 . He focused on “Forgive, and you will be forgiven,” a great topic for all of us, of course, but certainly for students about to spend a semester not only studying together but living together.
Here’s a recording of Joe’s sermon. You may want to turn up the volume (I recorded it on our phone and my assigned chapel seat is toward the back of the room). He preached without a manuscript or notes so I can’t include those.
Following the Eucharist, students, faculty members, and family members visited outside. It was a beautiful, sunny summer’s day. Here are some of the students with Joe and with The Rev. Vicentia Kgabe, Ph.D., Rector of COT.
Portia, Joe, Vicentia Kgabe, Tebogo, Theo, and Martha after worship at the COT Chapel.
Thank you for share a subject that can always helps us live a better life.
Godspeed Peter

Thank you Amy and Joe for this sermon on forgiveness. I remember the class you taught on forgiveness at St Anne’s. I learned a lot. These words highlighted much of the class content and reminded me once again of His mercy.
