Homesickness and Its Treatment
Here is a video version of the sermon I shared yesterday. It’s based on Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16 and 1 Peter 2:2-10.

Dear Amy,
I listen to a few minutes of your sermon I will listen to the rest tomorrow. I wanted to tell you how good it is to see, hear your voice; it is more present and real when it is a live video than a blog.
I’m so glad you’re back safe and healthy in United States and I know it must’ve been heartbreaking to leave South Africa. I never thought I would live through a global
pandemic. It’s overwhelming to see the sickness and death around the world and here in our country. I am learning much through this. Dependence on God and letting go of life to God is a major one. All of life’s lessons and the spiritual are heightened in this experience.
I look forward to listening to the rest of your sermon. I hope that you send more along because I would love to listen to them.
sending love to you and Joe

Dearest Amy and Joe,
Welcome home. This is particularly difficult for you both as I know the two of you created many special and meaningful friendships in Africa. How wonderful to see you and hear your voice. Thank you for your sermon Homesickness and It’s Treatment. Stay well and blessing to you both. Harry and I are painting. Yesterday I painted a watercolor of wild violets in my garden and this morning I found a lonely muscari that is begging to be painted. Thankful for God’s creations so very close and always with us.
Love, Jeanie and Harry

Dear Jean and Harry, Thank you so much for your wonderful and loving note. I’m glad you liked the sermon. It makes us both so happy to think of you both painting, not only paying attention to the beauty of God’s creation, but even more, creating ways to share that beauty with others. Lots of love to you! Amy and Joe
