Just over a year ago I published a post about a project I had been working on for a while, a novel called Antimony, which had just been published. It was really helpful (and huge fun) to have this project to work on over the past few years.
During the Covid-19 shut-down, this project gave me another huge gift. I used the novel as the basis for a podcast. The result is a cross between an audio book and an audio drama.
Friends and family members and friends of friends and family members from all over the world joined together virtually to record the characters’ parts. I’m now turning the scenes they recorded into episodes and posting them online. The results are great! It is so much fun to hear their voices bring the characters to life. My brother made designed the logo. Another dear friend composed and arranged music and is coaching me through sound effects and sound production. So much fun!
I called the cast, “The Silver Linings Players” because getting to work on this project truly was an unexpected blessing, a gift of this hard time of the pandemic.
A second blessing was that since I had learned about how to make a podcast, it was much easier for Joe and I to think of making our online morning prayer services.
Two unexpected gifts, made possible by the efforts and goodwill of lots of friends and dear ones from so many places!
If you want to listen to the podcast, please do. It’s free and easy to access at the Antimony Podcast website. Episodes 1-4 are out and 5 will come out in two weeks. Enjoy!
