Morning Prayer for Sunday June 20
Welcome to Morning Prayer from the Anglican Parish of Pasadena and Cormack in Newfoundland Labrador. Today’s service is led by Rev. Joseph Pagano, Rev. Amy Richter, Gail Roberts (reading the second lesson, 2 Corinthians 6:1-3), Marilyn Simmons (leading our prayers), and Mona and Gerard Edwards (Double Vision, singing “Peaceful Harbour” and “Satan’s Gotta Get Along Without Me.” The sermon, by Rev. Amy, is based on the first reading (2 Samuel 17: 1-49), the story of David and Goliath. The rhyming parts of the David and Goliath story used in the sermon are from “The Rhyme Bible” by L.J. Sattgast, published by Zonderkidz (2012).
Parts of today’s service were recorded on the Humber River Trail in Deer Lake, NL, and there rectory yard. The sunrise video was made in Straitsview on the Northern Peninsula in Newfoundland.
