Morning Prayer for Sunday July 25

Welcome to Morning Prayer from the Parish of Pasadena and Cormack! Today’s service was recorded close to home and far away from home. Thanks to Gail Roberts (reading our first lesson, in Cormack) and Vitória (Viih) Mahon (offering our music, in Recife Brazil!).

Viih Mahon is known by many in the parish. She is a 20-year-old university student studying travel and tourism and lives in Recife, Brazil. Viih came to Newfoundland first when she was 16 and won a scholarship competition. She lived with Paul and Colleen Harris in 2017-18 and again in 2019. While Viih was here she participated in many activities in the church and in the community. Viih is a strong Christian and recorded these songs especially so we could use them for worship today. Thank you, Viih!

Instead of a sermon, today we have a discussion about the gospel lesson, John’s version of Jesus feeding the multitudes and walking on water.

Parts of today’s service were recorded in Pasadena, NL on the hiking trail by the Blue Ball stream.

You can listen to the service here.

After today, we’re taking some vacation time. We’ll see you again in September! Thank you so much for joining us today, and God’s blessings and joy to you.

  1. Such a lovely service, as always, but especially today’s special music and gospel conversation! Enjoy your vacation time! Thank you so much for sharing Jesus with us all again this morning! Gratefully, Marjie Mack

  2. Loved it! Conversational style rather then sermon. Pedagogically good. Similar to lectures teaching, while they are necessary, conversations more engaging; same for sermons (like lectures).
    Keep it up! Love jo
