Morning Prayer for Sunday October 3

Welcome to Morning Prayer! Thanks to Marilyn Simmons (reading our first lesson, Job 1:1, 2:1-10) and the Wildwood Singers of St George’s Anglican Church for leading our music (“Hold Fast to the Right” and “I’m Willing Lord”).

Instead of a sermon, today we discuss the second part of the gospel lesson, Mark 10:2-16, where Jesus welcomes the children. (With apologies for the sound quality during our discussion!)

Watch the video of the service here:

You can listen to an audio recording (with better sound quality) here.

Joe Pagano wrote a sermon on the first part of today’s gospel lesson, Jesus’s teaching on divorce, for Sermons That Work. You can read that sermon here. You can also find a link to the Sermons That Work podcast recording of the sermon here.

Parts of today’s service were recorded at the Tablelands in Gros Morne National Park.

Two fall foliage videos are from Pexels, with thanks to German Korb and Russian Khmelevsky.

Thank you for joining us today.
